HIGHLIGHTS :

Minimum two years of pediatric scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required

Looking for strong skills in Eyes, Urology, Neuro and Ortho

BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY

Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years' experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered

Floating - Travelers are the first

Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location

Day / Evening, Monday - Friday, 12-hr shifts 0700-1930 with weeknight, weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities

License must be in hand at submittal

Locals are not accepted

1st Time travelers accepted in some units

Orientation is typically about one week

ADDITIONAL DETAILS :

Flu Vaccine : Required - Medical / Religious Exemptions Only

Pass / Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria

Telemetry exam requirements :

Adult Exam : 100% identification of lethal rhythms

No incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart blocks

Passing score of 80% or higher

Two attempts allowed

RTO Requirements : Manager will review / approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract

Orientation Hours : 40

Patient Age Groups : Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics

Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation

On call may cover : General surgery, neurosurgery, ortho, ENT, GI, facial fracture experience, skin grafting, eye trauma

Travelers will take call for anything general aside from cardiac

Very high acuity

Please do not pass if military only work experience

Neonate experience and peds experience required (skills checklist must indicate 3's or 4's for all neonate / peds)

The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, promotes safety, provides assistance to surgeon, cares for patient and instruments
