Certified Coding Specialist

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist responsible for CPT and ICD-10 coding to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

Assigns and sequences ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately, including all applicable modifiers

Contacts clients regarding inadequate or unclear medical record documentation for coding purposes

Monitors regulatory and payer changes affecting diagnostic and procedure coding

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

1-3 years of experience in medical coding and auditing, and / or customer service

Nationally recognized coding credential (e.g., CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT)

1-3+ years of experience in outpatient physician and / or multi-specialty coding

Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and ICD-10 codes as well as medical terminology
