Job description

Revenue Cycle Medical Billing - Self-Pay Patient Advocate - Intake

Work Location : Remote or In-Office

Hourly Pay : $16.00

(this position is bonus eligible)

Training Schedule : Mo-Fr 8am-5pm Central

Work Schedule (Post-Training) : Tu - Fr 8 hours between 10am-9pm Central

& Saturday 8 hours between 7am-7pm Central

The Self Pay Patient Advocate - Intake position is responsible for ensuring proper documentation for accurate patient billing.

Essential Functions / Duties

  • Entering data to ensure accurate patient billing.
  • Assisting Call Center with inbound calls from customers with billing inquiries.
  • Making outbound calls to validate active insurance coverage.
  • Collecting outstanding balances.
  • Assisting customers with Compassionate Care applications.

Qualifications : Required Experience

  • A minimum of six (6) months data entry experience
  • A minimum of six (6) months customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
  • Experience calculating numbers, correcting entries, posting records, and records maintenance
  • Knowledge and understanding of payor Explanation of Benefits (basic)

    • Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of six (6) months working in a call center environment
  • Healthcare / Revenue Cycle billing experience
  • Sales / Collections experience

    • Education

  • High school diploma
  • GED
  • Or significant, relevant work experience
