As Patient Companion in the float pool, you will help facilitate this mission by providing compassionate and top-quality care. In this role, you will assist RNs, physicians, dietitians and other staff in coordinating and fulfilling treatment plans. You will also find a culture that encourages professional growth, educational development and career success. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 7 : 00 a.m. - 7 : 30 p.m. and 7 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Assist with direct and indirect patient care for one to two patients, such as rooming, vital signs, weight and pulse oximetry. If assigned to a closed unit, you will observe three to four patients.
• Assure patient safety by ensuring that catheters, tubes or other medical equipment have not been removed or disconnected.
• Accompany and assist patients at all times, including transport, tests, transfers and ambulation.
• Identify and report changes in patient status to an RN or physician.
• Complete all documentation and provide hand-off communication to caregivers responsible for the patient.
• Assist with direct and indirect patient care for one to two patients as assigned, or if assigned to a closed unit, provide constant observation only for safety for three to four patients

Pay Range

Minimum hourly : $16.50 Maximum hourly : $16.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
