RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide editing and / or proofreading services to support the timely production of a variety of proposal efforts
- Successfully finalize and polish high-quality, persuasive, and competitive technical proposals, concept notes, and / or slide decks that are responsive to the forthcoming / live solicitations, including ensuring one voice, consistency, and compelling language
- Finalize proposals in coordination with the Proposal Lead and the feedback received during the review process
- Edit technical material using clear, concise prose that follows grammar and style standards used in federal government agencies
- Perform edits for content clarity (i.e., structure, language, style, and presentation)
- Proofread and edit a variety of written materials, ensuring the use of correct grammar and supporting promotion of a positive organizational image
- Produce final products that are clear, succinct, and free of errors (including typos, grammar, punctuation, and formatting)
- Review documents and recommend revisions or changes to improve the message, clarity, or readability, working as an integrated part of the writing team
- Format and proofread documents, ensuring high standards for presentation, compliance, and overall quality
- Provide writing support for discrete global health products to support business development (summary organizational technical area briefs, capabilities and experience briefs, organizational brand materials)
- Remain current on new developments in technical writing and editing, including technological enhancements
- Balance multiple writing projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
- This role could also include the provision of editing and writing support to other Business Development and corporate communications efforts, as time allows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years’ experience providing professional technical writing and editing support
- Degree : Masters in English, Journalism, Public Health, or similar field or equivalent experience
- Previous experience writing and editing proposals for bids with global health funders, including US Government; USAID preferred
- Experience working for an international non-governmental organization
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Strong editing skills with exceptional attention to detail and understanding of grammar and punctuation standards
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong time management
- Strong ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, Google Suite, and PowerPoint, including editing and formatting
- Ability to adapt to various editorial styles as needed and familiarity with Chicago style
Salary commensurate with experience.
