Who You are :
A highly motivated individual with previous experience batching, dispatching, delivering concrete and supervising individuals. Someone who is able to clearly convey information and ideas to team members and customers, as well as maintain a professional demeanor while addressing challenges and resolving issues.

- Familiarity with the local area, contractors, customers, and concrete construction practices.
- Competent in using Windows-based applications and possessing average keyboarding skills.
What you will be doing :
Customer RelationsFully understand and follow the company's philosophy as it pertains to customers
Follow up on customer complaints and concernsWhen directed, make customer site visit, collect payments or any other customer related itemsDiscretion, as position requires the handling of confidential informationPlant OperationBatch and load at the appropriate time to arrive on the jobsite as scheduledAccuracy and attention to detail is a mustComplete all paperwork in its entirety and forward as applicablePlant specific operations list is attachedOperate loader to ensure bins are fullPersonnel RelationsEnsure that all employees are following company’s policies and procedures
Foster a team building environmentEnsure that CMV operators are completing Driver Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (accurate, complete and timely)Ensure that equipment operators are performing Daily Pre-shift InspectionsEnsure that driver logs, fuel usage reporting and mileage logs are complete and accurateAdditional Responsibilities :
Oversee or complete all maintenance needed for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned plant including Plant / Yard inspections and maintenance (as per the Plant Maintenance Schedule)Oversees all general housekeeping of the plant, yard, and shop in accordance with the Safety Manual PolicyEnsure that maintenance is being performed and recorded on all company vehicles at assigned plantEnsure that company vehicles are clean inside and outsideEnsure that assigned plant is in compliance with OSHA regulations (perform internal safety audit weekly)Ensure that assigned plant is in compliance with EPA regulationsDaily and monthly SPCC plan inspectionsPerform safety huddles with staff weekly or more frequently if necessaryEnsure that all employees are using all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are working safelyAccident investigation and reports as necessary (vehicle and employee injury) notify supervisor and Safety Director immediatelyWashout areas must be inspected and maintained to prevent any discharges (or potential discharges) of processed waterWork with all personnel on proper washdown procedure at the jobsite, to avoid any potential discharges of processed waterEnsure that the maximum amount of returned concrete is recycled into blocks instead of wasteGreen-star plant managers must comply with the EMS and the Green-star plan for your locationMaintain inventory to meet production demands and customer needsTimely and accurate month end inventory reports and other month end paperwork as assignedEDUCATION : High School Education or Equivalent
Requirements :
A valid CDL Class B Driver's License and driving record within the tolerable insurability limits (Carroll Concrete Company's discretion) is preferableMust be able to lift / maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds as required throughout the workdayMust be able to maneuver in and out of truck safely to operate as neededAbility to inspect all areas on mixers and plantAbility to climb ladder to check inventories and or to perform plant maintenancePerform multiple tasks under stressful situations over long periods of time while maintaining proper composureMust be able to work long and flexible hours as necessaryCDL holders must pass DOT (Department of Transportation) physical as well as federally mandated alcohol and drug testing requirementsThis job description, as written for the position of Plant Operator for Carroll Concrete Company / Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. is an accurate reflection of the essential job functions for this position.
