Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team in Burbank, United States. In this senior-level position, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our production facilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for and the focal point for all technical aspects of assigned project(s) in the following categories :
Compliance with customer / product procurement specification
Validate that the manufacturing processes meet all customer and internal requirementsInitiate and drive product manufacturabilityReview and approve planning document releasesAdvanced Quality Planning (AQP)Directing and summarizing tooling requirementsCreating Visual Work Instructions (VWI)Meeting cost targetsEliminating waste from the manufacturing processesResponsible for clear and concise work instructions of detail parts, sub assemblies, and top assembliesApply operation time standards as required, develop Work Combination Sheets (WCS)Ensure the manufacturability of detail parts, sub assemblies, top assemblies as applicable to projects / programsLiaison and provide technical guidance between Senior Aerospace SSP manufacturing and customer cognizant engineeringAssigned to work with developing supplier processes and help correct supplier issuesLead initial manufacturing cycle of all new detail parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for assigned New Product Introduction (NPI)Clear understanding of the delivery schedule and adhere to that schedule. In case of conflict or if additional time is required to complete and validate the tooling and processes associated, the Manufacturing Engineer works with the assigned Contracts Administrator and the Operations Manager for schedule relief / changeEvaluate effectiveness of the manufacturing processes and implement improvementsWork to identify, implement and drive cost reduction ideas. May be assigned to or lead special cost reduction initiatives as part of a multi-discipline teamPrimary technical support or leads a Production Support Team and / or partners with the other team members to address manufacturing issuesPerforms Root Cause and Preventive Actions to eliminate root causes for nonconforming productsPerform, document and validate component, assembly, and / or system processes such as machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing of the following materials :Titanium
InconelAluminumStainless Steel01 and D2 tooling steelEnsure that all engineering changes are documented and implementedCoordinate and drive the design of tooling as it applies to the manufacturing / assembly processDevelop sound manufacturing processes based upon Senior Aerospace SSP's capabilitiesCheck production drawing(s) for technical contentMake recommendations and offer credible solutions to product, tooling and processesProvides data and relevant information to the quoting processFollow all Senior policies and proceduresCoach and support other Manufacturing Engineers on their process improvement projects and RCCA initiativesOther duties with the work as assignedQualifications
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 7+ years of engineering experience preferably in an Aerospace environment. M.S degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience in an Aerospace environmentMust possess knowledge of sheet metal and aerospace materialsMust possess knowledge of sheet metal related processes (welding, forming, NDT, etc) and geometric toleranceAdditional Information
Annual Target Salary = $110,000.00
Monday - Friday 7 : 00am - 4 : 30pm
