RBT Lead – Job Responsibilities Overview The RBT Lead supports high-quality ABA service delivery by bridging clinical and operational needs within the clinic.
This role provides guidance to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), supports client programming under the supervision of a BCBA, and ensures day-to-day clinic operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Clinical Duties 1.
Direct Client Support Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA with fidelity and professionalism.
Collect accurate and timely data on target behaviors and skill acquisition programs.
Model appropriate behavioral strategies and intervention techniques for new or less experienced RBTs. 2.
Staff Mentorship & Training Provide ongoing peer mentorship, modeling, and feedback to RBTs to maintain treatment integrity.
Assist the BCBA with onboarding and training new RBTs in clinical procedures, data collection, and ethical guidelines.
Support team skill development in client engagement, proactive strategies, and professional communication. 3.
Treatment Fidelity & Quality Assurance Conduct treatment integrity checks as assigned by the BCBA or Clinical Manager.
Monitor RBT adherence to protocols and provide immediate in-the-moment coaching when needed.
Identify potential barriers to effective implementation and report them to the supervising BCBA promptly. 4.
Clinical Collaboration Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and clinical trainings.
Communicate observations, client progress, and any concerns directly to the BCBA.
Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust session goals or behavior support strategies based on data trends. 5.
Family & Team Communication Support parent or caregiver training sessions as directed by the BCBA.
Promote professional, compassionate communication between staff, families, and supervisors.
Operational Duties 1.
Scheduling & Attendance Oversight Support Operations Manager or Scheduling Team in monitoring daily session attendance, call-outs, and client cancellations.
Provides RBT coverage to minimize service disruptions.
Communicate schedule changes and needs promptly to the Clinical and Operations teams. 2.
Clinic Flow & Environment Management Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive in-clinic environment conducive to learning.
Monitor clinic cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the day.
Support transitions between sessions, group activities, and breaks to maintain consistent routines. 3.
Documentation & Compliance Ensure RBTs complete session notes, data entry, and time logs accurately and on time.
Perform spot checks on documentation for completeness and compliance with company and payer requirements.
Support the Clinical Manager and Operations Manager with audit preparation and administrative follow-up. 4.
Communication & Coordination Serve as the point person for daily in-clinic updates, issues, or emergencies.
Communicate operational concerns (scheduling conflicts, supplies, maintenance issues) to the Operations Manager.
Relay clinical concerns (client progress, behavior changes, data inconsistencies) to the BCBA or Clinical Manager. 5.
Leadership & Culture Model professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to ethical standards at all times.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive clinic culture.
Participate in leadership or supervisory meetings as requested.
