Role : Software Engineer / Java microservices developer lead

Location : Irving, TX (Fully Onsite 5 days / week)

Duration : 12 months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer IV with strong expertise in Prompt Engineering, AI (LLM / SLM) model building and fine-tuning, and core API development. The ideal candidate will leverage AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot and custom LLMs) to accelerate code development, improve quality, and drive innovation within our enterprise systems.

You will be responsible for design and development of medium to highly complex systems in NSA architecture. We are looking for a Java microservices developer lead to join our team and support the NSA architecture implementation. Works closely with other IT and business partners to deliver NSA, MARVEL and OMNI deliverables. Manages computer systems in a business environment and is responsible for resolving technical issues. Knowledgeable in programming, data structures, computer systems, and software engineering. Ensures system reliability and scalability. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or other related field. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Superior written and oral communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex systems in the NSA architecture.
• Lead Java microservices development and contribute to the implementation of NSA, MARVEL, and OMNI deliverables.
• Utilize AI and LLM-based tools to enhance code quality and development efficiency.
• Collaborate with GTS and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Implement Agile development practices and ensure high code standards across the team.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security compliance.
• Develop and deliver well-tested, production-ready code across multiple distributed teams.
• Automate performance results and data consolidation tools.
• Partner with QA teams to maintain quality, fix defects promptly, and ensure seamless releases.
• Lead medium-to-large size development projects with both onshore and offshore teams.
• Provide technical mentorship and supervision to junior developers.
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to design and manage API interfaces for internal and external systems.
• Serve as a technical SME for eCommerce system flows, architecture, and integration.
• Contribute to solution design, estimation (LOEs), and decision-making for key initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and / or military experience, or specialized training.

Experience in Java 8 reactive programming.

Experience with PNO layer and Cassandra DB.

Experience in Microservices, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes containerization, EKS, Spring boot framework for systems Integration, Tomcat or Netty and GraphQL.

Experience in DevOps Tools - GIT, Jenkins. JIRA, Ansible, Test Driven development (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, Sonar, Kibana, Grafana).

Experience in designing, developing, and troubleshooting API proxies.

AI / ML Expertise :

Architecture : Microservices, multi-tier service-oriented applications

API Management : Setup, configuration, and management of API proxies for security, performance, and scalability

Development Practices : Agile methodologies, CI / CD integration

Tools / Platforms : Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence (preferred)
