Minimum : Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing\nPreferred : BSN\n\n\nLicense Requirements\n \n
Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure\n\n\nExperience Requirements\n \n
Minimum 1-year nurse experience in long term care\nSupervisory experience across multiple units\n\n\nCertification Requirements\n \n
BLS required through AHA or RQI system during clinical orientation\nCPI obtained within 90 days of hire\n\n\nJob Functions\n \n
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units\nAssures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts\nCommunicates with Director of Nursing and / or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and / or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items\nMakes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift / weekends) within identified scope of responsibility\n\n\nOther Requirements\n \n
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units\nAbility to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services and customers in a professional and courteous manner\nDemonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations\nAbility to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling\nFamiliarity with NYSDOH requirements\nDemonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills\nComputer literacy\n\n\nExposure Control Classification\n \n
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated\nRequired tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissue\n\n\nCustomer Focus\n \n
