Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online Technical Writing tutors with thousands of students nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students' learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

What You'll Do

  • Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform and provide high-quality 1-on-1 English and Technical Writing instruction that aligns with student goals.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you'd like.
  • Be matched with students whose needs align with your teaching style and expertise.
  • Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
  • Invoice for tutoring sessions; we handle payments and payroll on a fast schedule (payable up to twice per week).
  • Maintain baseline professional conduct and adapt to various learning styles.

Compensation & Platform Details

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40 / hour with repeat sessions from the same student.
  • Remote work—no commuting required.
  • We handle logistics; you focus on teaching and invoicing.

  • Expertise in Technical Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
