Youth Group & Respite Lead (FT, SG Youth)

Starting Wage : $20.70 / hr (+DOE) |

Schedule is 40-hours per week, typically working Monday through Thursday from 10 : 30 am to 7 : 00 pm and Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm. A full-time benefit package is included that covers medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, optional employer retirement match up to 3% and participation in the Utah Retirement System (URS).

GENERAL PURPOSE :

Provide effective mental health services for youth and children. Coordinate and support groups by ensuring families have the information needed for their children to succeed. Assist with group lesson planning and adapting activities for different age groups. Support transportation coordination, summer programming, and daily activities across treatment programs. Oversee group and respite operations as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED :

Works under the general guidance and direction of the Program Manager and direct supervision of the Group Services Coordinator.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED :

Direct supervision of all Family Support Workers. Supervision includes task assignment, work performance, job expectations and all day-to-day activities.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS :

  • Manages personnel matters including coaching, performance management, corrective action, delegation, and timecard / time-off approvals.
  • Effectively prioritizes tasks in a fast-paced environment while balancing client needs, staff support, and agency requirements.
  • Meets target productivity standards.
  • Maintains open communication with team members, supports team decisions, and ensures accurate electronic documentation of client information.
  • Completes all required documentation including assessments, safety plans, progress notes, correspondence, and reports accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Completes all required training, including E-learning, within assigned timeframes.
  • Attends and actively participates in all assigned meetings (staff, team, committee, and community).
  • Participates in developing client goals and objectives and collaborates with clients and the clinical team to support progress.
  • Contributes to client progress evaluations in team meetings through observation and client feedback.
  • Builds and maintains a working knowledge of community resources.
  • Provides Targeted Case Management (TCM) that meets state criteria for assessing needs, coordinating or linking services, and monitoring progress.
  • Supports client resilience-building through services and interventions.
  • Provides and accurately documents respite and Individual Skills Development (ISD) services designed to offer temporary relief for caregivers.
  • Provides Skills Development Services (SDS) using curriculum-based instruction and documenting progress (under supervision of SSW or higher).
  • Provides behavior-management instruction using evidence-based techniques such as anger management skills.
  • Works with clients and community businesses to obtain needed resources when assigned.
  • Uses non-violent crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate client behavioral escalations.
  • Transports clients safely to and from respite or program activities and completes all required transportation documentation.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • ADDITIONAL PROGRAM AND OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with the Director of Liability and Resource Management on vehicle-related matters and safety processes.
  • Completes monthly vehicle reports accurately and on schedule.
  • Schedules and completes regular vehicle maintenance.
  • Schedules use of vehicles for SBHC staff.
  • Writes incident reports for all vehicle-related accidents, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Ensures Youth Services staff age 25 and older complete required 12-passenger van training.
  • Ensures the kitchen is clean and daily temperature logs are completed as required by the health department.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Education and Experience

    A. High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from a college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or a related field preferred.

    AND

  • B. Preference given to those with experience in social service programs;
  • C. One (1) year of prior supervisory experience preferred.

    Or

    D. Equivalent combination of education or related experience.

    Licensure and Requirements

  • Valid Utah driver's license or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (BCI).
  • Certification as a Case Manager, or ability to become certified within six months of starting in the position is required.

  • SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification or ability to become certified as a Family Support Specialist or Peer Support Specialist
  • CPR / First Aid certification (within 30 days and annually)
  • Food Handler's Permit (as required)
  • AEGIS training certification (within 30 days and annually)
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., climb stairs, and transport clients
