Job Description : The Corporate Accountant position safely performs position specific responsibilities in line with Olympic Steel's Core Values to ensure an elevated level of productivity, quality and internal customer service while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures. The Corporate Accountant collaborates with other members of the corporate accounting department, the tax department, and divisional accounting personnel. This person will support the Corporate Accounting department by assisting with daily reporting, treasury and interfacing functions, the month-end closing process, financial reporting, and quarterly reviews with our external audit team. This person will also support the Corporate Tax department and may be asked to assist with unclaimed funds filings, employee benefit plan reporting, state and local tax filings, audit requests, and other miscellaneous filings on an as needed basis.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Providing daily consolidated operational and treasury results to management
• Assisting Corporate Accounting personnel by preparing and posting month-end journal entries and performing account reconciliations
• Assisting the Tax Department by preparing returns, reports, gathering data and performing reconciliations
• Preparing financial reports for management
• Providing accurate and timely data to internal and external audit teams
• Providing technical accounting and tax support to other departments and roles within the organization
