Road Safety Portfolio Manager
You will manage the Road Safety portfolio of grant partners focused on safe road behaviors, EV infrastructure & education and transportation access. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and deal extensively with the public policy, safety, sustainability, and innovation and growth teams within the organization. They will interact with external stakeholders and various community organizations, and therefore must be professional and poised, and have good judgment in dealing with a broad spectrum of activities and situations.
What You'll Do :
- Lead the execution of GM's Road Safety Social Impact Pillar, which drives philanthropic investments.
- Research and analyze the road safety landscape to refine giving strategy.
- Identify and solicit prospective nonprofit grantees.
- Review and process grant applications.
- Cultivate and foster signature partnerships within the portfolio.
- Monitor funded projects, progress toward impact and manage grant reporting.
- Develop pillar-specific progress and impact dashboards and reports.
- Coordinate all logistics pertaining to sponsored events and / or partner activations.
- Responsibly manage a multi-million-dollar annual budget.
- Maintain global knowledge of philanthropy and road safety benchmarking trends.
- Serve as a road safety philanthropy subject matter expert for the company.
- Integrate local giving philanthropy into larger corporate citizenship strategies.
- Leverage existing CyberGrants system to receive and evaluate grant applications.
- Build and manage relationships among grant partners.
- Develop and maintain supplemental documents and budget for giving initiatives.
- Manage responses to general inquiries and grant application status with external organizations in a timely manner.
- Assist with production and quality control of outgoing work products.
- Work on short term and ongoing projects with a variety of teams within GM.
- Help plan, prepare for, and run stakeholder working sessions.
- Develop portfolio communication strategy / roadmap to highlight social investments.
- Write programmatic overviews, develop reports for various levels of leadership.
- Work with the GM communications team to draft speeches and internal / external stories.
- Serve as an internal and external road safety philanthropy spokesperson.
- Collaborate with other portfolio leads to leverage work across the grantmaking portfolio.
- Collaborate with employee volunteerism team to develop and post employee engagement opportunities.
- Function as a point of contact for, and prioritize ongoing tasks related to the road safety grantmaking portfolio.
- Collaborate with product and brand teams to support their priorities and programs.
- Partner with Data & Analytics team to integrate the company's local giving efforts.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :
Bachelor's Degree5+ years in philanthropy, policy, nonprofit management, or leading complex initiatives or portfolios in any sectorExperience designing and managing complex initiatives with multiple stakeholdersStrong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate qualitative and quantitative dataExceptional relationship management, communication, and presentation skillsExcellent research and analytical skillsExperience or knowledge within CSR, ESG nonprofit organizations or corporate grantmakingExperience executing multi-million-dollar funding strategiesExperience or knowledge of international grantmakingKnowledge of the role of corporate responsibility in a corporate cultureMust be highly proficient in working with web-based contributions / grants management systemsStrong planning, project management, financial, administrative, and organizational skillsExperience with presenting, coordinating, and organizing meetings or workshopsProactive with ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, proven ability to multi-taskAble to work across business functions to achieve enterprise-wide resultsWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) :

The salary range for this role is $102,000 $135,900.Bonus Potential : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.Benefits : GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.This role may be eligible for relocation benefits.About GM
