Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The primary purpose of the role is provision of a full spectrum of legal land and title advice in relation to acquisition, divestment, redevelopment, subdivision, Crown land, land ownership and PWA compliance.

Note: Preference will be given to Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Wahi Ora candidates.

Mōu | About you

In the role you will be required to ensure accuracy and compliance of land information, provide expert and technical advice and solutions for land titles and Crown land matters, and undertake investigatory and other work to support Crown property transactions.

You will improve business processes to ensure land assets are managed to the best advantage and mitigate Te Whatu Ora / Crown risk exposure in a land specific context.

You will be a highly motivated and visible leader who can demonstrate leadership & experience in managing diverse functions and teams, preferably with teams spread across wide geographical boundaries and managing a wide range of stakeholders.

You will have a successful track record in delivering and supporting change, performance development, and collaborating effectively at senior levels.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

• Property or Land Management qualification or similar
• 10+ years skills and experience, including Senior Leadership experience (or consulting or professional body at the organisational level) within a similar role
• Senior land development experience, managing a sizeable land portfolio including acquisitions and divestments
• Experience leading work developing standard analytic approaches, including methodologies and templates
• Experience of crown property transactions
• Experience reporting on land compliance and risk within the portfolio including mitigation strategies
• Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills to drive required consistency and ensure compliance in a matrix reporting environment and leading a team to successful implementation of broad land management strategy
• Understanding of Te Kāhui Whakatau (Treaty Settlements), Māori land and the Public Works Act
• Understanding of land titles, easements, sub-divisions, disposals and LINZ processes
