As a Phlebotomist Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service in specimen collection and processing. You will travel to various client locations as needed, ensuring that your interactions are professional and courteous while performing both forensic and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities :
- Be prepared to travel to client assignments at short notice.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting clients and patients appropriately and courteously.
- Collect specimens accurately and on time, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Explain the specimen collection process clearly to patients, creating a calm environment to reduce anxiety.
- Safely dispose of biohazardous materials following all applicable laws and standards.
- Ensure accurate completion of requisitions and data entry for patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information with keen attention to detail.
- Utilize the lab computer system to research test and client information.
- Package and transport specimens according to strict protocols to maintain their integrity.
- Maintain required documentation and phlebotomy logs diligently.
- Assist with basic clerical tasks including filing, faxing, and electronic data entry.
- Submit accurate expense and travel logs promptly, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Promote a positive work environment by displaying courteous behavior towards clients, patients, and co-workers.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and report any issues to supervisors.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards.
- Comply with industry security practices and regulatory guidelines to safeguard sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
