Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Team Manager

Job Summary :
The Respiratory Therapist Team Manager oversees the daily operations of the respiratory therapy team to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities, including staff supervision, performance improvement, resource management, and interdepartmental coordination.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Supervision :
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the respiratory therapy team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and staffing needs.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and training to respiratory therapists and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Clinical Operations :
Oversee the delivery of respiratory care to patients across all applicable units.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.Participate in clinical rounds and assist with complex procedures when necessary.Administrative Duties :
Monitor departmental productivity and quality metrics; develop improvement initiatives where needed.Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.Maintain documentation, compliance, and reporting for accreditation and regulatory bodiesQuality Improvement & Compliance :
Participate in or lead quality assurance programs and audits.Promote adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines.Stay updated on new respiratory therapy techniques, equipment, and best practices.Education & Training :
Coordinate continuing education and competency training for the respiratory team.Support onboarding and orientation of new team members.Qualifications : Required :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred)Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRCActive state Respiratory Care Practitioner licenseMinimum of 3-5 years clinical experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory rolePreferred :
Experience in a long-term care or long-term acute care settingBLSSkills & Competencies :
Strong leadership and team-building abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of operations, EMR systems, and respiratory equipmentCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPowered by JazzHR
