Job descriptionLead teams of staff and volunteers in residential construction projects and offer skilled troubleshooting and technical advice on worksites. Teach unskilled volunteers construction skills such as mold sanitation and interior rebuild. Train unskilled volunteers how to safely use power tools (e.g., circular saw, impact driver, reciprocating saw, hammer drill, etc.) and ensure safety protocols are followed. Ensure compliance with work scope and quality standards. Communicate tasks and expectations clearly to team members, providing effective technical training and constructive feedback when necessary. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work site. Maintain records of work completed including tracking material usage, volunteer hours, and scopes performed. Positively represent the organization on base, with homeowners and within the community Perform other duties as required Education High school diploma or equivalent required Related Experience Previous experience with All Hands and Hearts preferred; experience working in a post-disaster environment preferred. 1+ years experience remodeling and rebuilding homes in the U.S. Special Competencies / Certifications Must have a valid drivers license. Must have good written and oral communication skills. Confident in Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Needs to be well organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks. Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to identify and solve problems. Able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast paced environment. Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base Frequently operates construction equipment (table saws, impact drivers, drills, and more) Frequently operates computer Frequently ascends / descends ladders and scaffolding Must be able to remain in a stationary position Frequent travel Living in communal environment High stress situations Typical starting salary is $14 - $15 USD / hour, and up to $16 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
