Oak Ridge National Laboratory is the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy and security.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate who will perform research exploring and refining processing sequences for fabrication of on-chip multi-electrode devices with electrochemical sensing functionalities. You will work with a team of researchers on 3D printing of polymer microstructures and their pyrolytic processing into carbon-based electrodes for integration into on-chip device architectures designed to enable multi-electrode electrochemical sensing.
You will utilize well established photolithographic patterning and cleanroom processing techniques to fabricate devices that are suitable for in vivo electrochemical biosensing applications. This position resides in the Nanofabrication Research Laboratory (NRL) group at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS), Physical Sciences Directorate (PSD), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This position is funded through a 5-year collaborative NIH grant NFE-21-08651 titled "Tunable Carbon Electrodes for In Vivo Neurotransmitter Detection."
