Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Engineering San Francisco, CA

About the Role :

This is a player-coach role for an experienced infrastructure engineer ready to grow into a leadership position. You will guide the team technically and operationally, while also shaping career development and fostering a strong team culture. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow as an engineering manager without stepping away from the code and architecture too soon.

What you will be doing :

• Lead and support a small, high-impact infrastructure team working across Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Azure, CI / CD, networking, and system observability.
• Drive technical execution of the team’s roadmap, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with security, product engineering, and leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with company goals.
• Mentor and coach engineers , supporting their career development and helping them grow through regular feedback and guidance.
• Contribute hands-on to architecture, design, and development, especially in areas of cloud orchestration, IaC, and infrastructure automation.
• Establish best practices for infrastructure as code, cloud operations, and reliability engineering.
• Foster a strong sense of ownership and accountability , setting clear expectations and helping the team maintain a high technical and operational bar.

Additional Job details

The base salary range for this position is $220k - $270k annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Sigma Computing. This role is eligible for stock options, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
