Clinical Specialist – Community Based & Substance Abuse Services IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR :
- Clinical Supervisor II and / or Director GENERAL DESCRIPTION : This is a professional position that provides supervision to clinical staff and direct clinical work with clients.
- The incumbent is responsible for the direct oversight and supervision of a team of CSAC level Clinicians, as well as the potential for QMHPs of Community Based Services to balance the role, as company needs adjust.
- The incumbent performs tasks to provide mental health and substance abuse services to clients of EMS of Virginia.
- These services may be provided in an outpatient clinic or in the client’s home or the community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for following through with referrals and completing assessments (initial, reassessments, comprehensive assessments)Responsible for case assignment and maintenance of client careEnsures that billable hours are achieved for clients assigned to counselors under his / her supervisionAssists with service authorization requestsIdentifies and finds solutions for problems with service deliveryInterviews and hires new staffResponsible for the training and development of staffProvides weekly administrative and clinical supervision to staffPlans and facilitates weekly team meetings and group supervisionCompletes clinical supervision notes and logsEvaluates staff performanceWorks with Clinical Supervisor II and Director on personnel decisions, including position appointments, terminations, issues, and disciplinary actionsWorks with the team on devising policies and procedures to ensure sufficient and effective services and compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and statutesResponsible for providing individual and group therapyResponsible for completing case management tasks for assigned clientsResponsible for reviewing treatment plans and progress notesOversees the management of client and records and compliancePerforms routine chart auditsOversees intern supervision and field opportunitiesSupports marketing efforts of company; leads marketing efforts for substance abuse servicesFollows up on inquiries for assistance from clients to gather resources and provide information to staff and clientsIs the subject matter expert for substance abuse services and takes the lead in development and implementation of programmingProvides support and follow through on overall service and operational compliance in collaboration with Clinical Supervisor II, Director, and Company Owners Other duties based on Level and Experience :Represents organization at Local Human Rights CommitteeRepresents EMS with licensure and overseeing bodies during audits and / or office visitsManages other areas as assigned Working Conditions : A.HazardsMay interact with challenging family situations B.EnvironmentOffice and VirtualField C.Physical EffortMinimalThis is a hybrid position with options for telework.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience Candidate must be licensed or licensed-eligible as an LPC or LCSW to provide clinical services by the State of Virginia, with experience providing mental health and substance abuse services.CSAC certification, or higher, also desired for this position.Candidate should have experience with staff supervision, program compliance, and program development using ASAM levels of care, with the ability to provide subject matter expertise and overall program guidance as EMS of Virginia establishes and builds substance abuse service programs.Knowledge, skills, and abilities Ability to set strategic objectives for mid-size social service organization; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to screen, hire, manage, and evaluate staff; ability to conduct and facilitate meetings; knowledge of the principles, and techniques of counseling services to youth, families, and adults with mental illness and substance abuse concerns; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Employees must pass a State Police Criminal Record Check, Department of Social Services Record and FBI Checks.Employees are also required to complete a Tuberculosis Screening Test upon employment and every year thereafter.Employees shall be provided trainings in behavior management, CPR, and First Aid upon employment.Benefits :
