The Inns of Aurora is hiring an Audio Visual Technician
Job Summary-
Provide exceptional onsite audio, video, conferencing support at the Inns of Aurora for all events held throughout the year. The Audio Visual Techician will oversee the operation, maintenance, inventory, and repairs of all sound and video systems (interior / exterior).
Ideal candidates will have familiarity in the following systems, products, or software : Dante, Crown, JBL, Sound Architect, Yamaha digital mixing console or equivalent. Must have a working knowledge of conference scheduling, sound, A / V design elements; working knowledge of A / V equipment, with the ability to repair and problem-solve technical problems; and personal computer skills with proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and multi-media programs.
- Weekend availability as needed is required for this position
Duties and experience
Assists in supporting and administering audio, video, and web conferencing.Manage inventory and operate various audio equipment for hard wired and wireless microphones.Execute preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues with audio mixing equipment, speakers, microphones, cabling, and more.Provide the expertise and use of necessary tools to repair audio mixing equipment, audio cabling, microphones, etc.Strong customer focus.Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision.Be able to work effectively with other departments receiving and communicating instructions.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend and be able to lift 40 pounds.Must be able to occasionally climb a ladder.Must have full range of motion and dexterity.Must have a flexible schedule including nights, mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.Ability to operate and troubleshoot most AV equipment and systems, like :
Projection systems / display devicesCrestron control systemsSwitching / routing / interfacing technologyVideoconferencing & Audio-conferencing technologiesWork directly with presenters in a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environment and be prepared with alternate presentation solutions.IT Technician
Provides some first level support for all employee-facing technology. Providing technical support and troubleshooting to Inns of Aurora employees.

Technical understanding of A / V and IT systems :
Up-to-date awareness of AV and IT technologies and their features.Up-to-date awareness of video conferencing technologies and their features i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and others.Ability to operate digital audio consoles for Live Events.Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and scheduling apps.Positive, professional image.Hospitality experience, especially at a luxury level.Experience with problem-solving.Ability to demonstrate effective and independent decision making abilities.Ability to remain calm under pressure.Ability to operate related A / V technologies required for the job, i.e. conference room meetings, video conference-based events.Ability to work and coordinate with an onsite events team daily.Directly communicate with live Bands and DJ’s prior and during events. Encourage early setup and sound checks prior to event start times.Provide instruction and guidance to live Bands and DJ’s regarding local sound ordinances and how to connect to the in-house audio systems.
