POSITION SUMMARY : This position is the first phase of facilitating the successful coordination and layout of our mechanical installation work. Position requires an individual with an attention to detail and commitment to accuracy to work closely with our senior draftsman.
Duty Summary : Work with the senior draftsman, estimating team and project management team to understand the scope of work and installation intent to accurately design and produce shop drawings and as-built drawings.
Requirements and Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED equivalent required; mechanical engineering degree preferred.
Current valid drivers license for operating motor vehicles in the state of New Jersey
Must be punctual, dependable and be able to take initiative and be proactive
Duties and Responsibilities :
Accurately and comprehensively understand the scope of work and customer requirements to develop a design in line with the desired project outcome.
Develop detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies / tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery, using computer-assisted equipment.
Visit site locations to validate layouts and measurements as required.
Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
Produce closeout documents based on final site installation.

Working Conditions : Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders / stairs to view system components, maneuvering in mechanical rooms, and similar when needed

Job Type : Full-time, office hours typically 8AM - 5PM, but are subject to change
