Job description

Shape Reliability From Day One

You start your shift by checking condition-monitoring dashboards, all while modeling the ATS safety culture. A spike in vibration data flags a “bad actor” asset. You convene the maintenance team, guide a rapid root-cause session, and turn findings into updates for the equipment-specific maintenance plan (ESMP). After lunch, you build a capital request—complete with ROI—to replace an aging subsystem, then coach technicians on Work Execution Management (WEM) to close gaps uncovered during a recent reliability strategy review. Before you leave, you align KPIs with site leadership to make sure ATS and customer goals stay in lockstep.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion a precision-reliability culture grounded in safety, compliance, and best practices.
  • Co-create engineered solutions with internal and external customers to lift throughput and asset uptime.
  • Identify capital expenditure opportunities and clearly communicate business cases and ROI.
  • Develop and maintain ESMPs informed by Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Apply predictive, preventive, and precision maintenance strategies to control risk before failure.
  • Lead and coach Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Bad Actor elimination, and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Perform and facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Strengthen Work Execution Management (WEM) processes; mentor teams on improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to ATS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to align and track ATS / customer KPIs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent experience in heavy industrial maintenance, reliability, or operations.
  • 5+ years of hands-on reliability engineering experience.
  • Proficiency across the reliability toolkit, including RCA; RCM and FMEA; cause-and-effect diagrams; life-cycle costing; and risk analysis.
  • Master-level proficiency with predictive technologies.
  • Vibration I Certification and Infrared I Certification.
  • Strong capability in machine health monitoring.
  • Coaching experience in Work Execution Management (WEM).
  • Deep technical fluency in electrical and / or mechanical systems, components, tools, and design principles.
  • Ability to research, assess, and implement emerging equipment technologies and trends.
  • Robust problem-solving, math, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including maintenance systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Clear verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, reporting, and technical writing skills.
  • Team-oriented with a track record of building professional relationships and collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Great-to-Haves

  • Interest in growing into leadership.
  • Experience with data trend analysis; vibration analysis; motor current analysis; oil analysis; lubrication and hydraulic testing; laser alignment; nondestructive testing; infrared thermography; ultrasound technology; acoustic reliability technology; Weibull analysis; and Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, NETA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ultrasound I and Maintenance Lubrication Analyst I certifications.
  • CMRP / ARP / CRP / CRL credential(s).
  • Green Belt and STS certifications.
  • Core Competencies

  • Drive & Motivation
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Task Management
  • Strategic Skills
  • Customer Focus
  • Self-awareness
  • Management & Leadership
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily plant-based. You’ll frequently stand, walk, use hands for fine manipulation, reach with arms, climb or balance, and regularly talk and hear. You’ll also stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed, and occasionally sit. From time to time you may lift and move items over 50 pounds. Close and color vision are regularly required. You may occasionally work outdoors and encounter electrical hazards. The factory setting is typically very loud, and you may be exposed to hazardous materials and / or greasy or slippery floors.
