About the Role :

As a GAAP Accounting Intern, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You'll design, analyze, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and exceed expectations. The GAAP Accounting Intern position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting GAAP and can be based out of our Topeka, or Overland Park, Kansas office. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing necessary journal entries and schedules.
  • Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of current accounting processes and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in the preparation of audit schedules and assist with audit inquiries.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects.
  • What We're Looking For :

    Students eligible for the internship will be current, full-time students available to work at least 19 hours a week, beginning in January 2026.

  • Full-time student in accounting and / or finance with at least a 3.0 GPA in majors. Current junior or senior preferred.
  • Willingness to develop industry-related knowledge.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think objectively and analytically.
  • Ability to work with various levels of management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work and learn in multiple financial systems.
