The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a Cardiology Physician to manage critical care cardiology patients in a multidisciplinary team environment. This position involves working in the CVICU, providing advanced cardiac care, and participating in teaching responsibilities for cardiology fellows and residents. The successful candidate will have fellowship training in critical care medicine and will engage in both clinical care and research opportunities within a nationally recognized cardiology program.

The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio is recruiting highly motivated and skilled physicians with fellowship training in critical care medicine. These physicians will be directly employed by the Heart and Vascular institute / The Christ Hospital Physicians. These physicians will work alongside academic minded specialists in cardiothoracic and cardiology, staffing our CVICU. This is a talented and multidisciplinary group (with backgrounds in critical care medicine, cardiology, advanced heart failure, emergency medicine and cardiac anesthesiology). The Christ Hospital has a robust and advanced cardiothoracic program and is a regional referral center for cardiogenic shock, LVAD, ECMO, heart transplantation, multivalvular, and complex cardiac care. The CCM physicians will have a balanced schedule sharing time equally as cardiac intensivists in our 28 bed CVICU. Critical care cases will include managing a wide range of critical illness and cardiac conditions such as severe valvular disease, AMI, cardiogenic shock, dissections, mechanical cardiac support, heart transplantation and chronic heart failure.

PROGRAM SPECIFICS

• 555 Bed hospital with a Heart and Vascular Institute model.
• Greater than 1000 Cardiopulmonary bypass cases per year and growing.
• Established 12-yr old LVAD program, with now greater than 40 LVADs per year and over 350 cases total.
• New and rapidly growing heart transplant program (17 transplants in first 12 months).
• Approximately 400 structural heart cases including TMVR, TTVR, TAVR, PV intervention, experimental protocols and novel devices.
• 28 bed CVICU currently operating as 20 ICU beds and 8 flex beds.
• Multidisciplinary intensivist group with backgrounds in interventional cardiology, heart failure, and emergency medicine.
• Dedicated support from clinical pharmacy and 10+ Advanced Practice Providers.
• ACGME accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship programs in General Cardiology and Structural Interventional Cardiology, with plans for additional super-specialty fellowship training programs. Faculty / Teaching opportunities if desired.
• Access to participation in clinical trials as well as investigator-initiated trials through The Carl and Edyth Lindner Center for Research and Education.

JOB SPECIFICS :

1.0 FTE Cardiac Intensivist, covering CVICU 12hr shift model, fixed compensation, supported team with APPs and clinical pharmacy.
