Overview
The Senior Implementation & Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for the successful implementation and onboarding of new contract logistics clients, including warehouse setup, process design, and workflow optimization. This role serves as the technical lead for new facility implementations, managing project timelines and defining operational processes to support client requirements. Additionally, this position drives continuous improvement initiatives across existing operations by auditing processes, metrics, and inventory for consistency, standardization, and optimization across the regional portfolio. The engineer collaborates with capacity partners and provides specialized continuous improvement support to other AIT locations on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Client Implementation & Project Management : Lead end-to-end implementation of new contract logistics clients, including warehouse setup, technology integration, and operational launch. Develop and manage comprehensive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for client onboarding initiatives. Design and document new operational processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures to support client-specific requirements. Coordinate cross-functional teams during implementation phases to ensure seamless client transitions.
- Process Engineering & Optimization : Conduct systematic audits of operational processes, performance metrics, and inventory management across multiple facilities and accounts. Analyze current state operations and identify opportunities for standardization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction. Design and implement process improvements that drive profitability, reduce errors, and enhance operational efficiency. Develop and maintain standardized processes and best practices across the regional portfolio.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership : Execute continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions for operational challenges. Monitor key performance indicators and implement data-driven solutions to improve operational metrics. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
- Capacity Partner Management : Provide ongoing support and guidance to capacity partners to ensure alignment with AIT standards and client requirements. Conduct assessments of third-party warehouse operations and recommend improvements. Collaborate with capacity partners on process standardization and performance optimization initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Support & Collaboration : Support other AIT stations and locations on specifically assigned continuous improvement projects. Provide technical expertise and consultation on process engineering challenges across the organization. Mentor and train operations staff on process improvement techniques and best practices.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze operational data, cost structures, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on implementation progress, process improvements, and ROI analysis.
- Technology & Systems Integration : Collaborate with IT teams on warehouse management system (WMS) implementations and optimizations. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to support operational efficiency and client requirements. Support system testing, validation, and user training during technology implementations.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Required)Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (Preferred)Experience
