Bonus Options : up to $20,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)

Hours : 7 : 00am to 7 : 00pm

Location : St. Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MO

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to) :

A ssess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans

M onitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms

C ommunicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology

A dminister medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions

P rovide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support

E ducate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit

R espond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible

R esponsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have :

Current and valid state RN License

Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current

Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus

Previous Acute Care hospital experience

Ventilator management experience

Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
