Shipping & Receiving Lead I – Anderson Processing Plant- Missouri
Overview :
This position is responsible for overseeing the plant shipping and warehouse function. This position will work with Customers and Opal team members reviewing orders and shipments and ensuring timely shipment of product. Successful candidates will supervise the cooler and warehouse personnel, assist with unloading and loading trucks as necessary, process invoices and bills of lading, maintain inventory, and perform weekly audits to balance all reported paperwork.
Job Duties :
- Supervise and manage work schedules for direct reports.
- Ensure assigned areas are properly maintained at all times.
- Ensure Opal Foods SQF, QC and safety procedures are followed in cooler and warehouse, shipping and receiving.
- Conduct Cooler inventory and reconcile differences daily, report unusual discrepancies.
- Conduct Warehouse inventory once a week and at month end.
- Monitor CFS label creation for accuracy throughout the day.
- Verify BOLs prior to loading to ensure that all customer requests are accurately filled for shipment and send BOLs for egg loads moved in or out of facility.
- Communicate with sales and transportation departments daily on internal product transfers, customer orders, egg shortages, long / shorts, and specialty egg orders.
- Operate forklift and pallet jack machines to unload and load trucks as necessary.
- Communicate with packaging coordinator to monitor supply and delivery of packaging materials as needed.
- Create PO’s and reports related to shipping materials including pallet, label, stretch wrap, CHEP, and RPC
- Participate in mock recalls, customer complaints, and incident investigations (5 whys).
- Update shipping, receiving and packaging calendars as needed.
Additional Functions :
Must have flexibility to work late to complete department tasks.Ability to work weekend and holiday shifts as necessary to cover open shifts.Maintain flexibility to help other departments as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager and / or the director.Requirements / Education :
High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 5 years in warehouse / inventory -based operations that deal with consumption of raw and finished materials highly preferred.Minimum 5 years utilizing WMS systems highly preferred.Must be able to perform basic math computationsMust be able to read and write EnglishDemonstrated ability to maintain accurate cooler and warehouse inventoryDemonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and recordsDemonstrated ability to multitask management of functions such as available inventory, loads shipped, loads received, and orders receivedDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of personnelDemonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office based systems and operate office equipmentAble to lift / carry 50 lbs.General mechanical experience is highly preferredBilingual English / Spanish preferredWork Environment :
This position requires frequent movement from the office area to the operational areas including cooler, warehouse, processing floor, and outdoor dock areas. Temperatures, humidity, and dust levels will vary greatly depending on the time of the year and area being worked in.
