Position Overview :

BWXT is currently seeking a technical / science intern for the summer of 2026.

Location :

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia.

BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from Lynchburg, VA. Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work / assigned projects to the leadership team.

Your Day to Day as a Technical / Science Intern :

The candidate will be responsible for performing the following :

Developing and delivering unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear environment.

Creating / updating drawings and procedures.

Participates in design testing, analysis, project management, and procurement of materials.

OSH candidates will collect data, analyze, and design improvements to work environments and procedures.

IT candidates will provide hardware, software, and other IT needed support.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :

Must be currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Occupational Safety and Health, Computer Science, or other technical disciplines.

Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
