We are seeking an Atlantic Region Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) with strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the medical science surrounding Myasthenia Gravis (MG), for our Rare Disease Organization (RDO) team. This role is a regional-based field position covering the following states : Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Richmond, VA, Raleigh, NC, and the District of Columbia.
About the role
The Thought Leader Liaison is the point of connection between the UCB's Neurology Patient Value Unit (nPVU) and critical opinion leaders and voices of authority in the Myasthenia Gravis (MG) clinician community. The TLL is aware of critical trends in the diagnosis, care, and management of those living with the disease. He / she builds relationships with providers, organizes virtual and in-person events, participates in medical meetings, and tracks developments in the medical literature to represent the voice of the provider community within UCB, and to represent the interests, questions, and perspectives of UCB to clinical leaders.

What you'll do
Develop a Thought Leader (TL) map for MG, outlining the different members of the MG provider and researcher ecosystem and their interconnections, profiling key influencers, and identifying the most important points of engagement and involvementCreate and Maintain the TL Engagement Plan for MG in the US, aligning UCB clinical and commercial goals and interests with those of the TL community, and specifying activities and initiatives to advance patient value creationEstablish a National and Regional Congress Engagement Plan that identifies the key meetings in which UCB should participate at the national level, with clear professional and commercial goals for each.Provide a framework for evaluating, prioritizing, and planning participation in local and regional meetings consistent with UCB's broader professional engagement strategyTrack TL Publications, Presentations, and Other Activities in the public domain to stay on top of new developments, identify emerging trends in research and clinical practice, and uncover new opportunities for collaboration and engagementAssist in the Facilitation and Execution of Commercial Advisory Boards in terms of participant selection, meeting planning, and socialization of findings consistent with UCB and PhRMA guidelinesSupport On-label Collaboration and Engagement between the UCB teams (ie, to facilitate best practices and ensure alignment with overall TL strategyPlan and implement Promotional Speaker Bureau Management (Professional), including identification and recruiting of national and regional TL faculty in coordination with External Engagement TeamsOverseeing curriculum development, establishment of protocols, and training of field teams on implementation, and ensuring compliance with appropriate UCB and PhRMA guidelinesPromotional Speaker Program Management (Patient) work with patient liaisons to create and oversee local patient engagement programsField Support and Training work with field management to facilitate development of account engagement and support plans, train on use of TL and patient programs, facilitate implementationORD Strategic Planning Support uses relationships, insights, and experiences to help inform planning processes and contributes to the development and socialization of strategic and tactical plansInterested? Bachelor's degree7+ years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals or biotech5+ years in field sales, product marketing, thought leader engagement, or similar2+ years Thought Leader Liaison experience or role with significant overlap in responsibilities80% time in the field is requiredExperience managing demanding travel and meeting schedulesPreferred experience
Master's degree in life sciences, business, or healthcareDemonstrated ability to understand and apply knowledge about complex medical and scientific issues, such as those related to the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of MGStrong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of cultural sensitivity and situational awareness as it relates to engaging with patients, payers, advocates, and others living with orphan and rare diseasesExperience of working knowledge of the US healthcare ecosystem and the underlying relationships between practitioners, providers, payers, patients, and governmentBalancing multiple priorities and levels of interactions across teams and disciplines while still adhering to strict budgets and timelinesExperience working in Myasthenia Gravis or related conditionsWorking familiarity with complement inhibitors and / or neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) based productsEstablished relationships within the orphan / rare disease provider, patient, and advocacy communityInternal applicants should be in their current job for at least 12 months, must meet performance standards and are not on formal corrective / disciplinary process (PIP), warning, final warning, or compliance warning letters within the last 12 months.
