Position : RN Supervisor (3 PM – 11 PM)
Location : Long Beach, New York
Shift : Full Time | 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 00 PM
Pay Rate : $55.00 per hour
Position Overview
Park Avenue Extended Care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Temporary RN Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during the 3 PM – 11 PM shift. The ideal candidate will provide strong clinical leadership, ensure exceptional resident care, and support the ongoing development and performance of the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting professional growth and excellence in resident care.
Support onboarding and orientation of new nursing personnel and assist with ongoing educational programs and in-services.
Collaborate with the Unit Manager to coordinate comprehensive care plans for residents and their families.
Serve as a communication link between nursing staff and management, ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate resident and unit documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Prepare reports, statistics, and other documentation related to nursing performance and departmental operations.
Investigate and report all cases of suspected or actual resident abuse, neglect, or mistreatment in accordance with state and facility protocols.
Assess resident conditions daily, manage new admissions, and ensure prompt execution of physician orders.
Counsel nursing staff regarding performance and attendance, maintaining appropriate records.
Make sound clinical decisions in medical emergencies and ensure proper response and follow-through.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Nursing Administration.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS / CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
Current Infection Control Certificate.
NYS Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Training Certificate.
Experience & Skills
Minimum of 1 year of nursing home experience with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Proficiency with Sigma Care or similar electronic health record systems.
