The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Technology Solutions by providing value-added financial planning, forecasting, operational analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis to enhance decision making. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and complying with accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of efficiency while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for building forecasting models to identify future risks, participate in the month-end close process, create journal entries, and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
Duties And Responsibilities :
The Senior Financial Analyst's responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to :
- Analyze financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data from various platforms compared to plans, forecasts, and prior year results
- Research, analyze, and report on financial and accounting inquiries for the division. Routine communication with Manager relating to financial close, budgeting / forecasting, issues and deliverables
- Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations on a monthly basis
- Prepare and analyze the periodic management reporting of financial results for the division. Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, recommending actions to management
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Maintain dataset of results and key performance indicators by entering, verifying and backing up data, ensuring the highest level of data integrity
Qualifications :
Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMinimum of 4 years of experience in financial performance management, analysis and decision supportDemonstrated ability to analyze complex data, generate alternatives and clearly communicate findings to drive positive changeAbility to grasp understanding of business models and key drivers quickly and independentlyDemonstrated ability to make effective presentationsAbility to interact effectively with all levels of management and personnelDemonstrated proficiency with expert Excel (Google Sheets used but experience not required); Hyperion EPBCS and / or Oracle ERP system experience preferredDemonstrated organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments and work effectively under time constraintsThorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAPSuperior analytical and problem solving skillsProven record of financial planning and strategy decisionsMust be able to meet deadlines and deliver timely and accurate resultsThorough planning and organization skills with great attention to detailAbility to work in a fast paced, hands-on environmentAbility to succeed in a team environment and perform cross-functional duties as requiredUnderstanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controlsStrong research and analysis skillsAbility to generate bold, creative ideas to improve performanceSelf-directed with strong motivation and willingness to take initiative and lead projectExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback and the ability to interact and partner with people at all levels and locationsGlobal Payments Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
