Job Title : Extrusion Operator

Reports To : Extrusion Shift Lead

Job Summary

The Extrusion Operator is responsible for safely keeping the extruder lines running. Extrusion Operators will periodically check the finished product for conformity to HPI standards. This position is a full-time employment or temp to hire position on a fixed work schedule.

Responsibilities

Start up, set up, operate and tend to extrusion machines.

Observe machine operations, control boards and gauges to detect any defective material or any machine malfunctions.

Observe and check finished products coming off the production lines and if defects are observed, take immediate corrective action.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Utilize internal inventory systems.

Follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.

Other tasks deemed necessary by the Shift Lead, Coordinator or Corporate Management.

Working Conditions

Warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Exposures encountered : noise, extreme heat and cold, dust, forklift traffic and occasional outdoor work.

Essential physical requirements : standing on concrete for long periods, climbing stairs, lifting, stooping, and bending.

Frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds.

Occasional weekend work and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous forklift experience.

One year of work experience in plastics manufacturing environment.

Understand or knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Shift Premium included in wages for working 2nd Shift
