About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Profession : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred.

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS all required. CPI or MAB / MOAB preferred.

Must-Have : Experience with all patient types, critical thinking, good communication skills, and ability to prioritize care.

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

The facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center.

The Emergency Department sees 150-180 patients daily.

The department has 33 main beds and 8 trauma / resuscitation beds.

There are 5 pods divided into 4 rooms each, along with behavioral health rooms.

Patient types include neonates, geriatric, and critical cases.

The department handles cases such as sepsis, respiratory illness, and GI bleeds.

Heavy trauma cases are expected, including stab wounds and motor vehicle collisions.

The department is a complete stroke center capable of managing stroke symptoms.

Registered Nurses are expected to care for sexual assault patients and assist with evidence collection.

Travelers will float to inpatient areas to assist with tasks within their scope of practice.

Staff support includes ED Technicians, charge nurses, and 24 / 7 physician coverage.

The charting system used is EPIC.

Shifts will vary and may include weekends.

Manager approval is needed for time off requests.

Scrub color required is navy.
