Job Type : Contract

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Degree in Medicine.
  • Residency in Psychiatry.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the District of Columbia.
  • Authorized to prescribe medication by the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry Association.

Responsibilities :

  • Medical Oversight :
  • Serve as the Medical Officer Supervisor for the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

  • Ensure appropriate attention is given to the medical aspects of clinical service.
  • Provide consultation to staff regarding relevant medical considerations for clients of Beautiful Minds.
  • Liaison Duties :
  • Serve as Beautiful Minds (BM) liaison to the medical community.

  • Documentation and Compliance :
  • Review, supervise, and sign Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance documents as needed.

  • Supervision and Oversight :
  • Oversee additional medical services provided through extra staff positions in psychiatry or consultant agreements.

  • Responsible for the oversight and supervision of additional medical staff or consultants.
  • Service Hours Management :
  • Maintain service hours in psychiatry at designated levels.

  • Recommend increases or decreases in the level of psychiatry service time as needed.
  • Quality Assurance :
  • Maintain the quality and relevance of psychiatric services offered by Beautiful Minds.

  • Administrative Representation :
  • Represent psychiatry in administrative meetings and across administrative lines.

  • Report on administrative needs related to psychiatry.
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Continuing Education :
  • Stay current with developments in the field of psychiatry through continuing education, attending conferences, and participating in relevant professional organizations.

  • Policy Development :
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to psychiatric services.

  • Crisis Intervention :
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.

  • Client Interaction :
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment and medication management to clients.

  • Team Collaboration :
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including therapists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
