EHS Manager
Chemical manufacturing facility seeking an experienced EHS professional with a strong background in chemical manufacturing, Process Safety Management (PSM) plant experience, and a mix environmental and safety programs. This hands-on role in a small facility offers the opportunity to lead a 50 / 50 split of environmental compliance and safety initiatives within the plant’s already strong safety culture with a collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and maintain the plant’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program, including MOC, PSSR, PHA, and operator training.
- Track, document, and coordinate PHA revalidations and ensure recommendations are implemented.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are completed to prevent recurrence.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, including air, water, and hazardous waste authorities.
- Manage environmental compliance programs : Title V air permits, semi-annual monitoring, annual emissions reports, stormwater management, and hazardous waste reporting.
- Lead and coordinate the plant Safety / Stormwater Committee to foster safety awareness, employee engagement, and process improvements.
- Maintain EHS records, prepare reports, and ensure the facility meets all local, state and federal regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to plant personnel on EHS policies and best practices.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in chemical manufacturing, including PSM and environmental compliance.Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements with agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DTSC, local Air Quality Management Districts, State Water Resource Control Board, and county environmental agencies.Experience managing Title V air permits, stormwater, hazardous waste, and PSM-related programs.Hands-on, proactive approach to safety and environmental leadership.Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build strong relationships across operations and leadership teams.Education in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Chemical EngineeringCertifications in EHS, CSP, or similar are a plus but not requireWork Schedule :
