Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Associate plays a key role in ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards while supporting continuous improvement across the organization. This position manages core quality systems, including document control, calibration tracking, and production / process audits to help maintain compliance and operational excellence. Working closely with operations, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, the QA Associate helps resolve quality issues, supports training initiatives, and maintains accurate records of all quality activities.
Essential Functions
A Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet established quality standards through testing, inspection, and process improvement.
Manage the operation and upkeep of the Document Control System
Assist in the management of the calibration system
Prepare and conduct internal production / process quality control audits to ensure processes are in control.
Maintain accurate records of Quality Assurance activities, including nonconforming products, audits and other administrative responsibilities.
Assist in the management and resolution of supplier issues and customer complaints.
Create training materials and conduct training sessions.
Work closely with other departments to ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.
Education and Experience
Education : A high school diploma is preferred. A degree in a related field is preferred.
Professional accreditation by ASQ in Quality Engineering or Audition preferred.
4-7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment; prior experience in plastics or continuous process industry desired.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality standards
Strong attention to detail is necessary.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards relevant to the industry
Proficiency in quality assurance tools and methodologies
Proficiency in computer skills utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word and customized programs.
Reading, writing and comprehension skills in English.
Good interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, customers, etc.
Physical Demands
Digital dexterity and hand / eye coordination in operation of office equipment, including PC
Light lifting and carrying of files, supplies, etc.
Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and other employees via phone or in person
Body motor skills sufficient to move from one office location to another
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
