Description : Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Cares for all cardiac needs, including post-operative care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-6. Supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and telemetry monitoring is available. Serves a diverse population across all ages. Teamwork is emphasized among nurses, patient care technicians, and unit staff.
