RESPONSIBILITIES : Stay knowledgeable of current food trends and develop new menu items always keeping the guests' preferences in mindBe familiar with international, domestic and special diet cuisine preparationOperate the club kitchen and direct fellow employees while keeping the team moral highMaintain consistency of product with great attention to food quality, taste and presentationControl food costs based on forecasting, efficient food production planned requisitioning and careful attention to established product specificationsControl labor costs and carry out administrative functions pertaining to forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, discipline, etc.Organize an efficient flow of production and maintain minimum but adequate staffingSet up a control system through recipes, assuring quality and portion consistency while adhering to serving safe food. Always serving hot food hot, cold food cold, and keeping the food buffets and stations tidy and stockedMaintain a good and reliable staff; to motivate, train and promote personnel and professional growthMaintain safe and sanitary working conditions for employees and with accordance to health codesEnsure that high standard of dress, personal hygiene, and safety is maintained by all employeesThink positively and cooperate willingly with all members of Food and Beverage and departments at Deer ValleyEnsure proper maintenance and care is exhibited by all employees toward the operations, equipment and facilityMaintain a positive rapport with our members, taking time to listen to their feedback and make necessary changes when appropriate.Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the kitchen at any given point in time. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressureQUALIFICATIONS : 5+ years experience in culinary skills, management, or private clubsMust possess the knowledge and skills to create incredible tasting dishes focusing on food trends and fresh local produceMust have a current Managers Utah State food Handler's permit and or a Serve Safe CertificateMust be able to work well with a variety of cultures and cooperatively with all other departments Must also be able to speak and communicate effectively with all teammates and club membersLifting and carrying at least 40 lbs.Withstand frequent up-an-down / twisting / repetitive movementsRequires exposure to machines, heat, steam, cleaning chemicals and solventsRequires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for food preparationMust be able to operate simple to complex kitchen equipmentMust be able to communicate with club members effective and efficientlyDATES OF EMPLOYMENT : Winter 2025 - 26PAY RATE : Pay : $30 / hrDeer Valley is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
