Description
The HSE Intern will play an active role in supporting and enhancing our health, safety, and environmental programs. This internship offers hands-on experience in compliance, risk assessment, safety training, and data analysis. You will work alongside experienced HSE professionals, participate in key projects, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist with incident tracking and reporting, including OSHA and MIS data submissions.
- Support compliance audits and maintain safety records and documentation.
- Help Monitor and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and schedule safety training sessions (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, MSHA, etc.).
- Maintain training matrixes and track employee certifications and expirations.
- Proivde technical support for online training platforms.
- Participate in HSE and ESG committee meetings; assist with notes and action items.
- Contribute to safety awareness compaigns and improvement intiaitves.
- Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
- Generate Certificates of Insurance (COI) and maintain compliance databases.
- Assist with cost and time estimates for training and projects.
- Maintain PPE and supplies inventory.
- Assist with other administrative responsibilities as required by HSE Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Pursuing Bachelor degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.Must be in your final two years of obtaining college degree.Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work may be performed 80% of the time in an office environment environment up to 20% in the field.Is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.Is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
