Responsibilities Work in a mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit serving both PCU and Med Surg oncology surgical patients Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, and reconstructive cancer cases Busy surgical floor with all permanent staff PCU trained Staffing ratios typically 1 : 4, may be 1 : 5 based on unit needs Shift is nights (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-7 : 30), with D / N option available Weekend work required on a variable basis per unit needs Self-scheduling requests allowed, but no set or blocked scheduling Charting is done using Epic EMR Care for surgical oncology patients including those with breast, thyroid, melanoma, liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract, and colorectal cancers Perform chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and respond to oncologic emergencies such as cytokine release syndrome Manage insulin and heparin drips and maintain strict infection prevention and fall protocols Initial orientation includes one week of Mon-Fri dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor Individuals residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting as soon as contract is signed Vacation or time-off requests must be submitted upfront and built into the contract Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate First time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration Minimum of two years recent PCU or similar acuity nursing experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required ONS Chemo certification preferred Must provide two professional references, with at least one from a supervisor or manager Former employees eligible after a six-month break; current employees are not eligible for travel positions at this facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-639605.
