The Corner Health Center is Michigan's first, largest and most comprehensive adolescent and young adult health center. The Corner serves youth and young adults ages 12 through 25 (and their children) and has over 40 years of experience providing care to individuals with complex needs. The Corner provides high quality, judgment-free, affordable health and wellness care and education.

Job Summary

The Youth & Family Engagement Coordinator is a community-facing, programmatic role that integrates health education, youth development, case management, and fatherhood programming. This position plays a key role in engaging fathers, youth, young parents, father figures, and families through education, group-based programming, community outreach, and supportive service coordination.

With a particular emphasis on fatherhood and male caregiver engagement, the Coordinator supports the design, implementation, and facilitation of inclusive, strengths-based programs that promote healthy relationships, positive parenting, leadership development, and access to care. The role is well-suited for candidates with bachelor-level training in social work, health education, human services, public health, or related fields who are passionate about community-based work and family systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Design & Facilitation

• Coordinate andfacilitategroup-based and community-based education and support programs for youth, young adults, parents, and fathers, using evidence-based or evidence-informed curricula.
• Lead fatherhood-focused programming that promotes healthy co-parenting, father–child relationships, and positive male engagement.
• Support youth leadership and development activities, incorporating participant voice and lived experience into program design.
• Adapt curricula and program activities to be developmentallyappropriate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and engaging.

Engagement, Outreach & Relationship-Building

• Recruit and engage participants through community outreach, partner referrals, and relationship-based strategies.
• Create welcoming, affirming spaces that foster trust, peer connection, and sustained participation.
• Plan and coordinate family-centered, father-focused, and youth-focused events and activities.
• Actively represent the Corner Health Center in community settings and at events.

Care Coordination & Support

• Provide basic care coordination, navigation, and warm referrals in collaboration with clinical, behavioral health, outreach, and care management teams.
• Connect participants to internal Corner services and external community resources that support health, stability, and family well-being.
• Support father-inclusive and family-friendly practices across Corner programs and services.

Partnerships & Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison to community partners, schools, and family-serving agencies to strengthen collaboration and referral pathways.
• Cultivate relationships that expand opportunities for youth, fathers, and families.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Programs and interdisciplinary staff to align programming with Corner’s mission and strategic priorities.

Documentation, Evaluation & Grant Support

• Complete required documentation, data entry, and reporting related to program participation, outreach, and outcomes.
• Support evaluation activities, continuous quality improvement, and grant reporting efforts.
• Contribute to grant proposal development, implementation, and compliance for funded programs.

Organizational Contributions

• Promote ethical, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and healing-centered approaches in all interactions.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Health Education, Public Health, Human Services, Education, or a related fieldORa combination of education and relevant lived/community experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community-based programming, health education, case management, youth development, or family services.
  • Experience or strong interest in fatherhood programming, male engagement, or family-centered work.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

• Preferred

  • Experience facilitating groups or workshops.
  • Knowledge of adolescent and young adult development, parenting, and family systems.
  • Familiarity with community resources and service navigation.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or similar credential.
  • Comfort working across clinical and community-based systems.

• Position may include evenings and weekends.
• Community-based and office-based work.
• All staff are required to follow Corner Health Center health and safety policies, including vaccination requirements.
