MBA Programs Student Organization & Events Manager

The MBA Programs Student Organization & Events Manager provides centralized oversight, coordination, and logistics management for a wide range of student club activities and program office events across five distinct MBA programs. Student clubs are a cornerstone of the MBA experience, offering students opportunities to build community and strengthen their leadership skills. The Manager will play a critical role in supporting these efforts and ensuring seamless execution of both student-led initiatives and program-sponsored events.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate the student organization recognition process with club leaders.
  • Provide training to student leaders on organizational processes and policies.
  • Offer guidance and support as student leaders identify club goals and strategize impactful activities.
  • Assist student leaders in the planning and execution of club activities and events.
  • Partner with program directors to understand their vision and expectations for events.
  • Manage all logistics for program events, including securing venues, permits, and contracts (e.g., catering, rentals, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the MBA Programs Budget Manager to ensure timely payments, reimbursements, and accurate financial tracking.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise student workers, ensuring effective office coverage and strong support for club and event operations.
  • Contribute to front desk coverage and operations as a shared responsibility in the Full-Time MBA Programs Office Team, ensuring professional and welcoming support for students, staff, faculty, and guests.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in planning, coordinating events, with an emphasis on aligning initiatives with institutional goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and other departments across campus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Software and tools (e.g., Google suite, Slack, Skype). Comprehensive understanding of all relevant state and local event regulations. In-depth knowledge of local community.
  • Minimum Education :

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Skills and Abilities : Experience with special events planning, fundraising management, or alumni and volunteer relations management. Experience in project management, proving scheduling abilities, ability to effectively manage and develop complex event and program budgets. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Anticipated Hiring Range : The salary range for this position is $77,443.56 $100,186.16. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
