The Manager of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for planning, implementing, administering and evaluating patient care delivery in the Cardiopulmonary Department.
The Manager of Cardiopulmonary Services is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing delivery of various forms of respiratory treatments to include but limited to : IPPB, ultrasonic, aerosol therapy, postural drainage percussion, rehabilitation procedures, ventilator management, pulmonary function, stress testing and for trained individuals; cardiac rehabilitation, vascular testing and other specialized diagnostic studies.
This position requires knowledge and skill of leadership in administration, principles of effective teaching and learning, fiscal management, and effective interpersonal relationships and communication.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide leadership and management for the Cardiopulmonary DepartmentCooperatively and supportively work with the members of the medical staff to provide services to patientsProvide significant input into the preparation of a departmental budgetProvide support and direction to staff by guiding, coaching, developing and counseling when necessaryEnsure staff competence through proper orientation, training, supervision and evaluationMaintain staffing compliance within regulatory requirements and budget considerationServe on hospital committeesServe as a role model and mentor for staff and peersOther Responsibilities

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care approved by the American Medical AssociationCredentialed by the National Board of Respiratory CareRegistered with the state of Minnesota as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)ACLS certifiedPreferred Qualifications
Advanced education in managementKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic ECG, Coronary Artery Disease and treatment and Cardiac Rehab processExperience in leadership, management and teaching abilitiesBackground in Cardiopulmonary, Outpatient Care and Critical Care settingLeadership
Demonstrate knowledge and application of established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standardsMaintain competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice; commits to continuous learning for themselvesAssist in development and fostering of continuous learning for members of teamPromote a culture of safety and strong communication for patients and employeesDemonstrate excellent customer service through attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organizationUnion Position : No
