Job description

Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in San Diego, California.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty : PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

  • Shift : 12 hours, days
  • Employment Type : Travel

Shift Options :

  • Nights : 3x12s (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

    • Days : 3x12s (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

    Weekend Requirement : 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

    Days : Sat / Sun shifts

  • Nights : Any combination of Fri / Sat nights
  • Floating : Required within scope; may float to NICU or other pediatric units (including satellite locations).
  • Locals Accepted : No (50-mile radius rule).
  • First-Timers : Yes, if strong CVPICU experience.
  • On-call : Not required.
  • Block Schedule : Not allowed.

    • Requirements

  • License : CA RN License (active or pending with ETA required at submission)
  • Experience :

    • Minimum 2 years recent CVPICU experience

  • Must have pediatric cardiac training (including transplants)
  • Previous children’s hospital experience required (must be listed on profile)
  • Certifications : BLS, PALS
  • Skills Required :

    • Ventilators, multiple monitors, EKG interpretation

  • Accessing / Managing Ports, Arterial Line, Central Line Care, CVP monitoring
  • Congenital Heart Disease / Repair, Heart Transplant, ECMO (exposure preferred)
  • Management of dysrhythmias, ABG interpretation, IV vasopressors, sedation, TPN / lipids
  • Pediatric CVICU experience essential
  • Other Requirements : Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
