Responsibilities Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital Assignment is 13 weeks with the option of working either 3x12 or 4x12 hour rotating shifts Patient ratios are 1 : 2 in the PICU Shifts are rotating, but no mid-contract shift changes within a 4-week schedule Weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule for days and 4 to 5 for nights; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights qualify as weekends No on-call required Floating within scope required, including to the NICU; may be asked to support the Peds ED without taking a full assignment Patient population includes respiratory distress / failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme / onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempts CRRT, ECMO, vents, and inotropic drip experience required Uses Cerner for charting Black scrubs are required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must be able to float to the NICU and act as a resource in the Pediatric ED when needed Black scrubs are required and not provided No parking fees Time off requests greater than 7 days require approval Requirements Active NM or compact RN license; pending license accepted Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 1.5 years of recent pediatric ICU nursing experience Experience with CRRT, ECMO, ventilators, and inotropic drips required COVID vaccination required unless approved for medical or religious exemption with completed documentation No local candidates within a 75-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-617828.
