Benefits :Position Overview : The Payroll Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role involves maintaining payroll records, verifying timekeeping information, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws. The Payroll Clerk works closely with HR and Finance to support smooth payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Collect and review employee timekeeping data for accuracy.
Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll runs.
Process Certified Payroll weekly.
Verify overtime, deductions, and benefits contributions.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies.
Assist with preparation of payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
Generate and distribute payroll reports for Finance and management.
Support year-end processes such as W-2s, 1099s, and tax filings.
Ensure confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Act as a point of contact for employee payroll-related questions, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
Identify process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in payroll operations.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred).
Previous experience in payroll, accounting, or clerical work is an advantage.
Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of payroll regulations and labor laws is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment :
May require extended hours during payroll processing periods.
