Insomniac produces some of the most innovative, immersive music festivals and events in the world. The company hosts 10,000 concerts, club nights and festivals for seven million attendees annually across the globe and operates in 13 countries across five continents. Our premiere annual event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the world’s largest dance music festival. Insomniac was founded by Pasquale Rotella and is based in Los Angeles.
The Role
Insomniac is hiring a PR Coordinator to join our dynamic, growth-minded culture rooted in respect, creativity, and connection. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, independent thinker who helps develop and implement creative yet pragmatic communications strategies to share Insomniac’s story and engage audiences across all media channels where our growing fan base seeks content, within the music industry and broader media landscape. The PR Coordinator will manage complex projects independently and collaboratively with internal and external team members anywhere in the world. The role requires great interpersonal, communication and writing skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling. This is an in-office, full-time position located in Calabasas, CA and may involve on-site work at varied event locations.
Responsibilities
- Media Relations & Communications : Monitor and manage the press inbox, respond to media inquiries professionally and promptly; build and maintain relationships with journalists, photographers, influencers, and other media professionals; review, approve, or deny media credential applications for concerts, festivals, and club shows; own logistics and communications for credentialed press to ensure they have what they need for event access.
- Content Development & Distribution : Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, festival recaps, news articles, and PR reports; create electronic press kits (EPKs), one-sheets, and talking points; assist in formatting and distributing press releases through third-party platforms; draft official quotes and remarks for executives; draft content for social media posts.
- Philanthropy & Community Engagement : Support philanthropy initiatives, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure philanthropic messaging is integrated across marketing, PR, and on-site activations; help maintain impact reporting and storytelling of charitable efforts.
- Media Monitoring & Reporting : Compile daily press clips and weekly media reports; evaluate coverage for brand alignment and provide recommendations; track earned media reach and sentiment across campaigns; provide updates to internal stakeholders and festival teams.
- Campaign Support : Contribute to brainstorms, build targeted media lists, draft PR strategies and timelines, maintain a current media database, and coordinate with marketing, brand, and promoter teams to align PR with broader campaigns.
- Asset & Database Coordination : Pull and organize photo selections, fulfill press photo / video requests, maintain press materials and assets in internal folders, coordinate with external firms for asset delivery and fact-checking.
- Onsite Event Support : Provide onsite media support at select events, train teammates and partners, and assist with other projects as needed.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience in music public relations or relevant internships; exposure to dance music or live events preferred; journalism background is a plus.Existing relationships with key media contacts in dance music outlets and industry trades is a plus.Exceptional writing skills and the ability to craft compelling press materials and pitches for different audiences.Strong understanding of the current media landscape, including traditional press and emerging digital platforms with emphasis on music and culture.Must be available to work in an office in Calabasas, CA five days per week (8-hour shifts).Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).Self-starter with a solutions-first mindset, proactive attitude, and strong time-management skills.Passion for electronic music culture and knowledge of Insomniac’s festivals and community.Work Environment

California Hiring Rate Range : $20.00-27.00 / hour USD. Compensation is a good-faith estimate and depends on factors such as location, experience, and internal pay alignment. Legal compliance information regarding salary transparency is provided as required.
