Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant – Accounts Payable to manage day-to-day AP activities and support core accounting operations. This role is ideal for an experienced staff accountant who enjoys end-to-end ownership of payables, billing support, and payroll backup while working closely with leadership in a small, high-impact team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable from invoice receipt through payment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper approvals
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
• Support customer billing activities as needed, including invoice preparation and documentation
• Serve as payroll backup, including data review, validation, and coordination with payroll providers
• Assist with expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements
• Support month-end close activities, including AP accruals and account reconciliations
• Maintain organized financial documentation in compliance with company policies and government contracting requirements
• Assist with audits, reviews, and ad hoc accounting projects as needed
• Collaborate closely with the Controller and AR Accountant to ensure continuity of operations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 4+ years of experience in accounts payable or staff accounting
• Experience in government contracting or professional services strongly preferred
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small-team environment
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
• Experience supporting payroll processes a plus

This is onsite position with the regular hybrid schedule of 3 days per week onsite and Mondays and Fridays remote from a home office location. This position may require up to 5 days per week onsite as needed on an occasional basis.
